Nine days, Eight nights | one DEPARTURE A YEAR
• June 9-18, 2020

New! Explore England’s vibrant craft beer scene and experience its foundations of traditional beer styles, too. From traditional iconic pubs to bucolic rural breweries, you’ll see England as only true insiders can, in a fun, efficient, stress-free fashion. Drink with the ghost of Michael Jackson and leave the driving on the left-hand side of the road to us. June 9-18, 2020.

Belgian Beer Me! (BBM!) is partnering with British American Beer Company (BABCO) to bring you this special beer tour of England. American Kurt Elia and Brit Stuart Boyne will lead you on an unforgettable craft beer and real ale journey, starting in the historic county of Yorkshire, centre of the craft brewing revolution in the north and home to the fantastic medieval city of York and ending in the historic hop fields of Kent.  On the way we will be drinking craft beer and real ale with some of the UK's best and most innovative brewers, visiting Burton-on-Trent, seeing the home of William Shakespeare, traveling through the beautiful Cotswolds, experiencing London in all its glory and drinking beer in Britain's oldest brewery. BBM! Quartermaster Stu Stuart (me) will also be on the tour as an aid-de-camp.

What is the connection between BBM! and BABCO?

Kurt Elia is a BBM! alumnus and friend. I've been considering offering a beer tour of England, so when this opportunity came along to partner with BABCO, it was a good fit to offer a well-researched beer tour to England for BBM! travelers and to help market this worthy travel company. I hope you'll join us!
--Stu Stuart

Deadline to sign up is one month before departure.
$3499/per person + Air, $499 single supplement*

* Prices based on double room occupancy.  If you are a solo traveler and would like to have a private room all to yourself there is a single supplement fee of $499 in addition to the base price of $3499 per person. We can also work with you to pair you with other single travelers to avoid the single supplement. Better yet, recruit a friend to come, too! Unless, of course, like Rick Steves says, you prefer to “snore alone.”

We require a minimum number of travelers for a tour to be confirmed to go, so it’s important to sign up ASAP, as opposed to waiting until the deadline. Also, tours can fill suddenly, so signing up early guarantees your place and avoids disappointment.

Day 1:  Tour begins in the lobby of our hotel in the historic city of York, where you'll meet fellow travelers and enjoy a walking tour. York is home to more than 365 pubs so there will be a chance to explore some of these both before dinner at the welcome drinks and after at Brew York, an excellent craft brewery and taproom.

Day 2:  Head out to a Malton for breakfast and a visit to two up and coming breweries, Brass Castle and Bad Seed Brewery.  Following this, we head over to Leeds (a hotbed of craft brewing in the UK) for a beer pairing luncheon at the impressive Northern Monk Brewery. Prior to checking in to our hotel, we will visit our friends at Nomadic for a sample of their latest offerings.  After dinner we will be exploring Leeds' spectacular night time craft scene.

Day 3:  After a leisurely breakfast we will head to Huddersfield, another Yorkshire town leading the way for the UK craft beer revolution.  The highlight of the day will be a visit to Magic Rock Brewery with a tour and tasting extravaganza led by their Head Brewer! The evening will be spent back out in the Leeds craft beer scene.

Day 4:  A morning visit to the brewing museum of Burton-on-Trent, followed by an afternoon in Stratford-Upon-Avon, the home of both William Shakespeare and some great pubs; there will be time to visit both. Dinner will be spent in the company of Purity Brewing, where you will get the opportunity to try the traditional and the craft sitting side by side.  The hotel will be near Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Day 5:  Step back in time during our day in the Cotswolds.  First stop will be a visit to the historic Hook Norton Brewery (an original gravity fed brewery) followed by lunch and a chance to visit Blenheim Palace.   In the afternoon we will check in to a local hotel and then visit West Berkshire Brewery's fantastic new brewery and taproom, where you will again get the chance to try the old and the new side-by-side whilst enjoying dinner.

Day 6:  An early start drive to London with a morning check in to the hotel.  The afternoon is a free day of sightseeing with an optional craft beer pub tour in the evening.

Day 7:  A full day of traditional and craft beer touring, starting at Fullers Brewery (home to the fabulous London Pride) followed by one of the craft giants of the UK revolution, Beavertown.  Dinner and the evening will be on your own.

Day 8:  Our journey continues with visit to a brewery making waves on the London scene...Hop Stuff Brewery. We will then head to Kent, the legendary home of English hops, followed by a trip back in time with lunch in Faversham and a visit to the oldest brewery in Britain, the Shepherd Neame Brewery.  Following the tour we will check in to our hotel near Dover, where we'll enjoy dinner.

Day 9:  Our last full day and a chance to explore the White Cliffs of Dover.  The afternoon and evening will be spent in the company of the Westerham Brewery sampling some of Kent's best craft beer and real ale.

Day 10:    Following breakfast we will transfer to London and conclude the tour.

“...We both want to thank you again for doing such a good job putting this tour together and leading it. Insuring that everything runs smoothly and looks effortless takes a tremendous amount of work and a diverse skill set and you did an extraordinary job putting everything together. In the past Anne and I have always put our own trips together, and we were a little nervous about what it would be like to do a group tour. However, our fears turned out to be completely unfounded and we both agree that there is no way we could have come close to duplicating your tour on our own. We are already talking about what our next tour should be.”
— John & Anne from Boston
